Pro Bono Service Award 2018

Dear Lanis Karnes:

Congratulations and thank you for your dedication to the legal profession and your service to the citizens of Tennessee. In recognition of your pro bono service in 2017, the Tennessee Supreme Court has honored you as a 2018 Attorney for Justice. Your name will appear on the Pro Bono Honor Roll on the court’s website, www.tncourts.gov.

The Court believes that as an Attorney for Justice, you should be allowed to display the Attorney for Justice seal on your law firm’s website, letterhead, resume, and other promotional or marketing materials. You may use the seal as long as your license to practice law remains in good standing. An electronic version of the seal is attached.

In further recognition of your service, you are invited to attend a regional recognition ceremony in Troy, TN, on Friday, October 5, at 2:30 PM. The recognition event will be held in conjunction with the Obion County Civil Legal Clinic, sponsored by West Tennessee Legal Services. The Supreme Court will present you with a certificate signed by the members of the Court and bearing the Attorney for Justice seal at the event. We hope that you, your family, and your office colleagues will attend the ceremony acknowledging your achievement. You may register for the event at http://www.cvent.com/d/hbq9ft.

If you are not able to attend, please notify the Access to Justice Director at ATJInfo@tncourts.gov and your certificate will be mailed to you. Also attached, you will find information on the Obion County Civil Legal Clinic.

On behalf of the Supreme Court and of the Tennesseans who have benefitted from your pro bono service, thank you.

Lanis Karnes is awarded the 2018 Pro Bono Service Award!
